SON SHINE 414: IGNORED

The elderly beggar made his case with intensity, his voice rising to a crescendo as he implored passersby to have mercy on him. He was unable to appreciate the grim faces of other pedestrians who were busy evading both the decrepit and expensive vehicles in this traffic chaos. Not one person looked in the blind man’s direction or offered him that lifeline.

“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.”  – Psalm 27: 10 (KJV)

SON SHINE 413: NEIGHBOURLY

It was about 1.00am when the frantic bang on her door by the neighbours made her tiptoe to the window closest to the entrance just to be sure that it was not bait by a robbery gang. The neighbour had no car and needed help to the hospital. An elderly visitor they were hosting had mysteriously been stung by a scorpion right on his bed. The lady rushed the victim to the hospital saving that family the horror of giving their hospitality a nail-biting finish.

“If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:” – James 2: 8 (KJV)

You are that solution waiting to manifest.

Let the Son shine in your heart daily.

SON SHINE 412: CRASHING CABINET

Two of the three children in the family played into the kitchen as they were used to only to hear a thud from the loaded overhanging cabinet. With both parents otherwise occupied, the cabinet miraculously landed away from the children who were supposed to be right under it. When their already agitated father who rushed home saw the mystery, he developed instant headache, just wondering what he could have done if not for God.

“There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” – Psalms 91: 10-11 (KJV)

SON SHINE 411: LIMIT BREAKER

What was supposed to be the access to this far-flung village with only a dug well was a windy stretch of barely passable and narrow turns with ditches laden with miry clay. Getting there required grit and a resolve to keep a promise. It was amazing that such secluded spot in the wilderness produced the most important person in that local government.

“And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” – Judges 6: 15 (KJV)

Where you come from should not limit you.

Let the Son shine in your heart daily.

SON SHINE 410: SMART

It took a series of phone calls and visits before she came for the fellowship. On the day she showed up she even called to confirm the time and was prompt. Her only contribution was a prayer point for God to still a raging storm in her life. It was the last time she attended the fellowship. She would later testify during a chance encounter that the problem which brought her had been resolved. Thereafter she continued to give excuses for not coming back to the God who gave her the testimony.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” – John 4: 23 (KJV)

 No one can use God,

Let the Son shine in your heart daily.
