Nothing about her suggested anything unusual. But there was a part of this soft-spoken woman who regaled in the occasional hearty laughter: Her colleagues freely discussed her as someone tormented by spiritual forces which made it impossible for her to marry. No man in that domain dared to approach her knowing the consequence.
