As I read the book of Matthew in the Bible close to midnight with my wife fast asleep, the poisonous crawling object with claws inched through the open door moving towards our bed. In seconds, I hit it with every available weapon within reach but it sprang up with every hit spoiling for a fight. It finally succumbed when doused with kerosene and burnt. Reading the Bible at what for me was an unusual hour saved our lives.

? For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.? ? 1 Thessalonians 2: 13 (KJV)

There is life in the Word.
