SON SHINE 857: SAPPED

The crate on the teenager’s head was bare, its content emptied after another day of hustle – in a traffic zone where a bad road, and the aspirations of folks trying to survive the tide, found common ground. Her tight faded black jeans hung inches above the slippers, with the lower end of her weary feet splattered with muddy water. She walked alone this dusk, probably pondering her daily routine of toil, and running after moving targets, with some of their occupants looking too different to be living in the same country.

“But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.” – Isaiah 40:31 (Good News Translation Bible)    

The toil will not continue for ever
