As the oncoming vehicle changed lanes, headed for a direct hit, there was only enough time for a swerve. It was an instinctive reaction that could have been fatal, as it meant an inevitable dive into a deep valley. But just before the plunge, a roadside obstacle halted the advance, stopping the car in its track, and averting an untimely journey.
