She watched his life ebb, hoping that the gadgets would guarantee a miracle that looked increasingly impossible. Prayer time was a mix of teary-eyed optimism; expectations dimmed by fears of the inevitable. A decision had to be made. The emotion said “No”, but reality asked, “for how long?”. It was a painful path to the end of the child’s suffering; and a part of her was gone forever.  

“Certainly, sorrow doesn’t come from the soil, and trouble doesn’t sprout from the ground. But a person is born for trouble as surely as sparks fly up from a fire.” – Job 5:6-7 (God’s Word Translation Bible)
