His was a peculiar tweak of gospel hits, with his voice ringing clear through the speakers. But by the third song, the tone had shifted base, and his struggle was evident. It took the congregation to bail him out of the dilemma, with a coordinated rendition of the popular. By the time he dropped the microphone, he had become the face of the shortcoming of talent.
