The subdued chatter gradually rose into a din, with the choristers virtually disengaged from the proceedings. As the offering and tithe segments climaxed into prayers and testimony, they continued in spontaneous small groupings, still distracted. When it was their session, they sang with passion. They probably didn’t make much of the moments of noise, right there in front of the congregation.

“Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.”  Hebrews 12:1 (The Living Bible)
