SON SHINE 1018: FORGETFUL

The tray came off the screening machine, with the phone whose owner went through the body scanner in seconds. But he started walking away, leaving his phone on the tray, till another passenger got his attention. He confessed totally forgetting the pet he was fiddling with just minutes earlier. It was one thing to recall the flight to catch; it was another to remember the companion that held the ticket required for sighting at the check-in counter, just some feet away.
