The menu in the ornate restaurant, came in glossy, offering the unfamiliar. He recognized the rice and potatoes, and the shredded chicken there, activated some longing for a new experience. By the time the food came, the rice looked like the remnant from a toddlers’ lunch pack; and the chicken was really shredded, almost invisible. Some available snacks, provided relief later, from what would have been a night of inevitable hunger.
