SON SHINE 802: DITCHES

Intermittent rainfall had dug deep, creating craters from what used to be potholes, and washing the mix of clay and loamy soil, off a foundation of a construction in search of the millions that birthed it. The build-up of traffic, had become the known face of what used to be passable, with a short stretch now defined by the manoeuvres of skilful drivers who bumped through, leaving the least stained vehicle, all muddied. Hawkers, however, milled around the zone, sweating their way through what had become good business, on the heels of the misfortune of aching motorists and passengers.

“Then the Lord said to Job, “Do you still want to argue with the Almighty? You are God’s critic, but do you have the answers?” ” – Job 40:1-2 (New Living Translation Bible)
