    My Story, My Son Shine

    VIP – Adesoye Paul T.

The poor man down the street has become a forgotten being on earth until now.
“White Money” as people mostly call him is dying of kidney failure and desperately needs a donor. The poor man on hearing the news decided to voluntarily donate one of his kidneys to him, even though “white money” never for once thought of giving him a dime when he was healthy.

John 15:13 -“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

    Devil’s Breed – Adesoye Paul T.

Walking back home on the streets of Lagos is a young handsome looking brother who had just led a very powerful prayer session in church some 15minutes ago. He had been told to lead for 25minutes, but as a result of the overflowing anointing during the prayer session, he ended up using extra 32 minutes.
He has been the devil’s top target for the day, and he didn’t take note. A pretty looking lady approached him and they started conversation. He didn’t know when he got to his house and invited the lady inside his two-room apartment. The remaining story of this young vibrant “brother” is a story of shame and disgrace as he was though prayerful, but not watchful (watch & pray).

    Rejected – Adesoye Paul T.

Everything looked so perfect for him as he await the outcome of the final stage of the interview in his dream multinational company. He had insider information assuring him that he was the standout candidate for the job; lo and behold, just at the last minute, the Human Capital Manager chose another candidate. 1 Samuel 16:7 -But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

    Trap – Adesoye Paul T.

The young uneducated man had been living a good and normal life from the little profit he makes in his curtain business.
He just could have continued thanking God for his life, but his covetousness pushed him to follow a friend who promised to introduce him to a herbalist in order to increase his sales and profit. He died just on their way back home after visiting the herbalist.

1 Timothy 6:9- “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.”

    Revealed – Adesoye Paul T.

She always thought no one could notice her evil deeds, though she pretend to be innocent in the sight of men.
It was the statement uttered by the man of God that revealed she has been aborting countless times since she was 14, and that presently she’s carrying a pregnancy of seven weeks which if she try aborting would lose her life; even though she’s barely 18 years old.

Luke 8:17- “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.”

    Light – Adesoye Paul T.

Her phone and gadgets have been down and out of use because the power holding company decided not to turn on the light for two days running. She felt so frustrated and annoyed with those in charge of the power system. Just at the point in time when she decided to retire to her bed for the night to sleep, her electronic bulb turned on so bright.
Light is coming into your life very soon.

Genesis 1:3- And God said, let there be light and there was light.

Key Holder – Adesoye Paul T.

She desperately looked for the key holder for more than an hour sweating profusely. Initially people didn’t take her so serious until she told them it contained various keys including her apartment’s and car keys.
She got help from people who took her serious and finally found the key holder.
All the keys to life’s happiness is embodied in Christ.

Mathew 6:33- But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

    Relieved – Adesoye Paul T.

They’ve both been expecting a child since they got married more than 13 years ago. The wife has been subjected to lots of painful insults and confrontation from neighbours and in-laws, most especially for her faith in Christ.
Finally, she got pregnant and gave birth to a set of identical triplet boys. God never fails.

1 Samuel 2:8 “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them.”

    Vigil – Adesoye Paul T.

The vigil started with just a few persons, but as time went by, new chairs were needed to accommodate the large crowd of people that kept coming. It just didn’t end there, They kept smiling as he began to see the people he had earlier invited for the special vigil and who had told him they were not going to be present because of one reason or the other. His cup of happiness was really full like a man who just won a large amount of money.

    Continue – Adesoye Paul T.

The mountain looked so high and steeply. It looked so insurmountable to many, but he was determined to reach the peak.
The air became heavy and his breath was short, his brow was filled with sweat and his heart began to beat faster. His feet became heavy and was increasingly difficult to pick them up; but still, he won’t give up.

Your Neighbour – Adesoye Paul T.

It was a rainy day, she was ready to leave her home at 5:35am so as to beat the morning traffic to work. Just as she was closing her gate, she saw an high tension wire drop into the water across the street. “Hmmm, I don’t have time to warn anyone about the danger now” she thought within herself and left for work. It was a big surprise to her when she heard six persons has died as a result of the fallen wire.

The Great Day – Adesoye Paul T.

He kept remembering the question he heard from the message on the radio when tuning to his favourite hip hop radio station. The question was “are you ready for that great day?”
The great day of judgement is coming. It is a day when riches, power, certificates, talents, connection, and even properties will fail to help and they all will melt like wax before the righteous judge (GOD) who has the power to give either eternal rest or punishment to those that deserve it. Are you ready?

    Commotion – Peter Igie

He was the guest speaker and had built a reputation for keeping to time. But on this day, his pace was not keeping with time.
He had been caught up in the winding traffic on his way.
In a flash, he parked his car along the expressway and took a commercial motorbike to the venue, only to meet the door shut.
The ceremony started two minutes ago. As he explained his plight to an uninterested gatekeeper, a call came through his phone.
His car has just been towed away. In his commotion, he was reminded about the restive ways of man.

” Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”   –   Psalm 34: 19  (KJV).

    Child-Ache – Peter Igie

At age 12, she was already old in sin. Introduced into prostitution when just 10 years old, she had grown to accept only that profession for her subsistence.
Now, many years later, as the effects of her wasted teenage years took its toll, she will recount to her peers how she missed her way early in life.

” Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”   –   Proverbs 22:  6  (KJV).

    Dinner – Yinka Kadri

The dinner table was well set, the meal looked appetizing. she was really hungry and it was just the type of food she needed, but she noticed a bag on the table near the food indicating the food belong to another. She was tempted to eat the food for dinner but her conscience prevailed. She chose to suffer hunger and pain than deprive another or sin against her creator. Psalm 31 v24

    Be of good courage…

    Restoration – Yinka Kadri

He had sat for jamb exams every year of the past 4 years, no University admission.  His younger sister who left school 2 years after him, got immediate admission into the premier University.  In frustration, His parents got him into a polytechnic, he felt inferior to his pals, most of whom are in different universities His fate suddenly changed after his OND. He got admission to bag BSc Economics in just two years in England.

    The Race – Yinka Kadri

His marks were the lowest of all the six boys from the same neighbourhood who sat for the Federal Government College exams. The boy had given priority to his class teacher’s instruction to mark out his answers on the question papers before submission. He had little time to fill the exam answer sheets before the pens up. His result was thus the poorest – a little less than average. One of the boys who was his closest friend was only 5 marks short of the 85% cut-off mark required but did not gain admission into the choice college due to stiff competition. No one gave him any chance since his result was too poor until his mother’s visiting friend told her that she was a member of the immediate past executive committee of the choice college’s Parents-Teachers Association. One thing led to another and the boy was given admission into the school. Tthe stone which the builders rejected became a cornerstone.

    Chastised – Yinka Kadri

She fasted that day so the food served during the management meeting was sent to her office. At about 5pm, another packed food with fruits was brought to her from another source so she decided to break her fast with the new meal. Immediately the Spirit of God convicted her directing her to give the new meal to the student on attachment in the office but she refused and rather requested for spoon. As soon as she took a spoonful of the rice, she screamed in agony. The spoon dropped to the floor as an excruciating pain caused by a stray grain of rice in a troubled cavity gripped her.. Seething with pain she painfully beckoned to the student on attachment who unaware of the drama was just too happy to take over the meal. D

    Miracles – Yinka Kadri

The bananas looked so fresh that she could not resist the temptation to buy. As she rummaged her bag for money, she brought out some of the bag’s content including the sum of N10, 000 cash. Five minutes after her purchase and departure she realised she did not return the ‘N10.000 back into her bag; she went back knowing the chances of finding the money was zero. Behold the money was on the grass near the banana seller where she dropped it untouched in the full view of the passersby (Luke 1: 37).

    Asking God – Yinka Kadri

She got to the bus-stop at 11.10pm, determined to attend the vigil, but the available buses  were those plying the opposite routes. After 30 minutes of fruitless waiting a family came and immediately got a bus. She asked God to do hers in a SPECIAL WAY and at 11.58pm she desperately stopped a branded taxi . She asked the fare to her destination some eight bus-stops away and was asked to pay only fifty naira. Stunned with disbelief, she entered (Mathew 7:7)

    Boy Helper – Yinka Kadri

The teenage girl walked slowly with two heavy poly bags filled to the brim with foodstuff she purchased at the market about a kilometre away. She could feel dozens of eyes boring into her with resentment for not patronising them. as she trudged the long dusty road. She held her head high in defiance. Suddenly the two poly bags gave way and the entire foodstuff spilled out on the road. Embarrassed and perplexed she stood not knowing what to do. Suddenly she saw a boy running frantically towards her, stopped in front of her, held out the poly bags and asked to put the scattered items on the floor.

Her Father’s Will – Yinka Kadri

She was happy to hear that her most adored friend was in a nearby city. She was eager to visit her loving father, who was ever ready to protect and guide her for reasons best known to him and advised her against going. But she wanted the re-union more than anything, ignored the warning and told him not to interfere. As she prepared for the journey, she suddenly woke up one morning feeling drained, empty, battered and totally weak. With her spirit level below zero she could only lie there weakly crying for forgiveness…..

Totally drained and empty, she lay like one dead, knowing it was from the father. With weak tears streaming down her cheeks she begged him to forgive her for the disobedience (for she actually got to her friends gate before she was turned back). She thereafter decided to trust her father’s decisions, even when she doesn’t understand them. She knew from her long relationship with Him that every action He takes is for the best; His ways may be tough but the joy therein is long-lasting.

    Praises – Yinka Kadri

She woke up that morning singing praises for no reason she could think of. As she awaited the bus  plying her church route, the praises came to her in ceaseless flow. A bus came and she stepped forward to enter but was stopped and was rudely refused entry. Hurt, she stepped back still singing. The driver having discharged the two passengers at that bus stop tried  to move on but the bus would not start. As the driver fruitlessly tried to start the bus a church members’ car owner stopped and picked the woman (Psalm 150: 1-6)
