We were inseparable, till he went abroad for further studies, and we exchanged letters regularly till he became a resident. A visit home rekindled the past, renewing hopes of steady contact which was not to be: we stopped communicating many years ago. New friends, family, challenges and commitments have changed a past we thought would last forever.
