Snaky turns preceded this pothole-laden section of the road with the carcass of a burnt trailer, vehicles unable to surmount the steep incline and others which simply scaled the eroded pavement into the ditch beneath. In the midst of the disorder and carbon emissions on this nemesis of the unwary and careless, an old woman stood begging, hoping for compassion from motorists who slowed down compulsorily to navigate to safety.
