The driver had inadvertently taken the longer route. Then we ran into a convoy with armed escort no one could overtake for a long while before getting into another traffic snarl occasioned by political activities. Fifteen minutes to the time of the only available flight to our destination and after three other unnerving delays, the airport was still kilometers away. We got to the airport 20 minutes after the flight was supposed to have left. Just then, the arrival of the aircraft taking us was announced.
