The now familiar cry had become a pattern. It was the only way it communicated hunger, discomfort or whatever else, and the regularity took its toll on the doting mother who barely slept. But their relationship was evolving. Through the cry, enough was said to almost accurately tell what the matter was. And the baby, oblivious of what her upkeep involved, appeared confident that all it needed was cry, even as it was the business of those around it to bother how they met those needs.

“Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.”  Luke 18:17(King James Bible)
