The tethered cow and donkey grazed by a disused plough under the baobab tree this sundown in Boko, Kebbi State, Nigeria. As the breeze rustled the leaves, the silky skinned twosome took turns to stare at the visitor occasionally running his fingers round the face of the cow. Two kilometers away, another cow had paid the supreme price, with its remains spread on several planks for anyone keen to buy.
