He had given up on owning a property there, but as he sought alternatives, someone who was part of a better deal, offered to and interceded with the property owner for a plot at almost half the initial price. There was a breakthrough after a protracted session: he got the land at the requested price, with the owner warning that nobody should ever be brought to him with such requests again.
