As events unfolded, the story remained that of gloom and pain. It was
apparent that something was wrong, as the potential which all those
around them could see, failed to translate to any kind of progress.
They had reason to conclude that the agent of their misery was right
there in the family. With the battle lines drawn, sophisticated
weapons were freely used, and the gulf widened. In the battle to
survive, blood relationship became immaterial.
