SON SHINE 837: BOY

As she prayed with the phone, eyes shut, but earpiece positioned for optimal reception, the toddler watched, bidding his time, unhinged the phone, and took it away for another playful round. When there was silence from the other end, and no “Amen” when the need arose, she opened her eyes only to find the earpiece hanging loose, and the boy enjoying his time out with the keys. She gave him something to reflect on, with the cry piercing the stillness of the serene neighbourhood.

“Don’t fail to correct your children; discipline won’t hurt them! They won’t die if you use a stick on them! Punishment will keep them out of hell.”–  Proverbs 23:13 (The Living Bible)

There is a time to pray and a time to act
