The professor dropped his business card, mumbled his desire to see the boss and walked away from the desk, hands in his pocket. It was his way of intimidating the receptionist who had sized me up earlier, ignoring my request to see her boss while calling me a young boy before attending to those she considered more important. She got the message of my professor, and presto, we were soon ushered in to see the manager.
