The aircraft queuing on the runway awaiting clearance from the control tower was just one in the fleet of the surviving few. In the vicinity were the strewn carcasses of airlines which used to hold sway. Apart from their names which were still visible despite the ravages of the elements, what used to be beautiful wings in the skies were now less than desirable to the eyes.
