The flexi-banner hanging on this uncompleted structure only halfway above the foundation announced the passing of an accomplished local icon. The design spoke of a mansion that would have made a statement of the taste of an owner who had planned to make a statement. The photo on the banner gave no hint of a journey about to end for an urbane gentleman. He began what he was never to finish.
