As we cruised closer to destination, with the end of check-in time too close for comfort, the cab sputtered, let off a few gasps, and stopped right in the middle of the road: the tank was empty. It was at that kind of spot where getting another vehicle to help was virtually impossible. The driver had hoped that the near empty tank would somehow make the journey and had failed to yield to a reminder to refill. As we wondered what to do, he tried the ignition, not expecting any result. The vehicle roared back to life, still got me to catch the flight, and zoomed off on the miracle fuel

He still supplies the strength to continue the race
