SON SHINE 686: PATIENT
He turned slowly, looked at the money now in his frail grip, and stared with some intensity at the passenger at the rear of the cab, managing his gratitude in a voice ravaged by time and lack. It had taken some persuasion for him to mention the fare he was charging, after his endurance in two locations. The old cab driver who was rewarded with more money than he asked for, was apparently unaffected by the pace and pranks of the city. His creaking car and well-worn clothes, showed that he needed the money, but his unwillingness to skin his passengers to meet his needs, told the story of another countryman.
