SON SHINE 87: STRUCTURAL ADJUSTMENT
It was manifesto night and contestants played on the sentiments of an impressionistic students? audience, using gimmicks, grammar and showmanship, to score points. The first of two contestants for this office, came on stage, the picture of dignity, class, and barely audible. The chatter continued as if he wasn?t there. The second one hyped his listeners with a populist slogan which caught on: whatever else he said hardly mattered, as the audience rooted for him.
?And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus? have mercy on me?And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called.? ? Mark 10: 47, 49 (KJV)
