The star attraction wasn’t enthusiastic about the invitation, apparently unconvinced that it was worth his time. But the third person contacted to be the speaker, snapped up the offer, later proving that it was a case of being the one prepared by God to fill a gap. On D-day, the replacement became the real star who should have been the first choice.
