As the service progressed the choristers prattled and chatted on the platform right in the full view of the congregation sometimes smiling, gesticulating and generally lost in the intensity of their distraction even as wisdom flowed from the officiating minister this Sunday morning. It took one of the moderators of the service to remind them of the need to be focused to arrest their attention only for the chat to continue in pairs after a short interval. It was a different ball game when the time came for them to minister as their beautiful voices sliced the very air of the auditorium.
