They were both products of the same womb, but fortune had smiled too early on the elder who was intensely hostile to the younger’s family, as the latter wallowed in poverty and despair. But in years, a switch saw the treasure of the advantaged become a hopeless deviant, while time stripped her of what became premature prosperity.  The disadvantaged gradually strode to reckoning, but the harm had been done, and the possibility of healing the wounds appeared irretrievably shattered.
